Joseph Stone

Joseph Stone has been a professional artist for over thirty-five years. Born in Montgomery, AL, he realized at an early age that he had a knack and a need to draw pictures. His talent took him to Auburn University where he received a degree in art and design in 1955. After many years as a publication illustrator and editor, he returned home and began to express his love of Montgomery in drawings and paintings of local historical landmarks.

His limited edition lithographs are in homes and businesses throughout the United States and several foreign countries. His publication, "Montgomery Sketchbook", has been popular with both locals and tourists. His original art hangs in numerous private and corporate collections, such as South Trust Bank Corporation, Maxwell Gunter Federal Credit Union, First Montgomery Bank and Xerox Corporation. He has also won many awards and honors for his art, including "Best of Show" at a Selma Art Guild-People's Bank juried show.
