Artist’s Statement
“My favorite medium is oil. For a long time I
painted buildings then became interested in landscapes. My paintings
have been impressionistic bordering on abstract. The last few paintings
have crossed the line and become abstracted landscapes.”
Biography
A Selma native and graduate of the University of Montevallo,
Cam’s paintings have been in shows in Selma, Montgomery, Birmingham,
Mobile, Tuscaloosa, Prattville, Millbrook and Marion. She won Best
of Category in the Montgomery Art Guild Regions Bank Show in 2001
and has been accepted into Experimental Artists of Alabama, 2005 Montgomery
Museum of Fine Arts Show, Energen Show in Birmingham.
At present her paintings are in SAC’s Gallery
in Montgomery, Selma Art Guild Gallery (charter member), and Blackbelt
Treasures in Camden. She was published in the Montgomery and the River
Region Sketchbook in 2005 (available at the Gallery.) She is a member
of the Selma Art Guild, Montgomery Art Guild and Tuscaloosa Art Guild.
In 2002 she was inducted into the Regional Arts Museum in Monroeville.
In 2000 she returned to her alma mater, John T. Morgan
Academy, to be the art teacher. She also teaches at Montgomery Museum
of Fine Arts, SAC’s Gallery in Montgomery, Wallace College and
Selma Art Guild Gallery.
