SAC’s 30th Annual Waterfront Show

Please join us at a Reception for the 30th Annual Waterfront Show and Competition.
The show is in Memory of Nell Hardeman, the founder of this competition.

The Reception and Awards Presentations are

SUNDAY, October 11, 2009 – 2 to 4 PM
Montgomery Visitor Center, Union Station

EXHIBIT WILL BE ON DISPLAY THROUGH October 30th
Visitor Center Hours: M-Sa 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Su 12-4 p.m.

Competition Rules:

Works of art have a water or downtown Montgomery theme.
Entries must be brought to the Visitor Center on Wed, Oct. 7th between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Entries will be accepted in 3 Catagories:

Cat. 1: Paintings, Drawings and Original Prints
Cat. 2: Photography and Computer Generated Works
Cat. 3: Three Dimensional Works

2 D Entries must be framed and have wire for hanging.
Items must not have been entered in a previous Waterfront Show
Best of Show, and 1st-3rd place in all categories, will receive appropriate rosettes and monetary awards. Prize amounts will be based on the number of entries. Ribbons will be awarded for Honorable Mentions.
Purchase Awards may be awarded in the Amount of $250. Purchase Award recipients will also receive a Ribbon of Merit.
Entries need to be picked up at the Visitor’s Center on October 30th between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Fees:

SAC’s Members: $6 per entry ($25 memberships can be purchased at turn-in)
Non-members: $10 per entry

Limit of 3 entries per artist (make additional copies of this form as needed)

2009 Waterfront Show Judge: Jean Belt

Jean Belt has been an art consultant to public institutions for 25 years, and owner of CAS Gallery and Frames in Montgomery for 15 years. She was a founder of the Arts Council of Montgomery and the Armory Learning Arts Center . She is a qualified Fine Art Appraiser, has served as president of the Alabama Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers, and is currently serving as vice president. She has completed course work both from George Washington University and the ASA in appraising personal property, and has attended seminars in New York City, Taos, NM, and London, to broaden her base of knowledge and experience.
